7 Reasons to Support Breast Cancer Advocacy

  1. ALL women are at risk for breast cancer.
  2. About 90% of women who develop breast cancer do NOT have a family
    history of the disease.
  3. A woman in the United States has about a 1 in 8 chance of developing
    breast cancer in her lifetime.
  4. Every 3 minutes in this country, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer;
    and more than  40,000 die each year from the disease.
  5. Approximately 3,000,000 women in the United States are living with breast
    cancer.
  6. Over 28,000 women in Rhode Island have breast cancer.
  7. Breast Cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths for women in
    the United States (after lung cancer).
