The Rhode Island Breast Cancer Coalition is a 501c3 non-profit organized in 1992 dedicated to ensuring that all women have access to screening and treatment for breast cancer, to increased support for research, and to advocating for legislative initiatives to improve the quality of healthcare for women and their families. RIBCC . . . facing the challenge and meeting the needs of many The Rhode Island Breast Cancer Coalition (RIBCC) is the state’s leading grass roots organization dedicated to ending breast cancer through the power of action and advocacy. With passionate commitment, we focus our efforts on changing the world of breast cancer, on collaborating with the scientific community in its search for the cause and cure of this disease, and ultimately, on seeing its eradication from society. With unrelenting dedication, we strive to make screening, diagnosis and treatment available for all women, to offer needed programs and support, and to remain constantly informed of ongoing research and legislation affecting women with breast cancer. With developed advocacy skills, we bring powerful voices and insightful perspectives to government, science, healthcare and private industry . . . to every table where decisions pertaining to breast cancer and the breast cancer community are being made! Where every day, we network for a world where women will be safe from being diagnosed with breast cancer and strive to fulfill the needs of our breast cancer community by providing free educational programs and support groups. All RIBCC support groups are professionally facilitated. We have monthly groups for women in treatment, for the supporters of women with breast cancer and for lesbians and their partners with any type of cancer. We offer additional groups as the need arises. We also host a Mind-Body- Spirit program called “Healing Circles”.
